Three FIM Championships for Plews!

Three FIM Championships for Plews!

Three FIM World Championships. Three different riders. Three unforgettable seasons. In what can only be described as an extraordinary period for us at Plews Tyres, our supported riders have dominated junior racing across two disciplines - Hard Enduro and SuperEnduro. From Mitch Brightmore's determined 2024 Junior Hard Enduro title, to Marc Fernandez's flawless 2025 SuperEnduro championship campaign, and James Moore's dominant 2025 Junior Hard Enduro victory, Plews has cemented itself as the choice of champions. This is the story of three remarkable journeys to the top of the world.

2024 FIM Junior Hard Enduro Championship - Mitch Brightmore

@ Future 7 Media

The 2024 Hard Enduro season started with a new race to the calendar - Valleys Hard Enduro. This year Mitch Brightmore was determined to take the junior championship title after tight competition with 2023 champ, Matthew Green in the previous season. Starting off on home ground gave the British riders an advantage and backed by the TTR Squadra Corse team as well as Plews, it was set to be an exciting start. The weather and track were unexpectedly dry and dusty and a curveball for most riders but regardless Mitch finished as the 1st Junior and 7th overall. A great start to the season.

The next race on the schedule was Red Bull Erzberg Rodeo in Austria. Although a notoriously difficult race, in 2023 Mitch finished the race in 16th position but this year it was made very clear that the track was more challenging than ever. Without a doubt this race is about tyre preservation and pure grit. After almost 4 hours of racing and with only 12 minutes to spare Mitch crossed the finish line in 7th position ahead of his previous rival, Matthew Green. Again as the first junior, he starts to collect much needed championship points.

Over the next rounds Mitch would prove that his determination and skill were enough to set consistent results as the leading Junior. Xross would prove to be a challenge with GPS struggles but essential in preparing for Red Bull Romaniacs. Mitch would secure 6th overall in both of these races and 1st junior. By this point it was clear that the gap between him and is closest rival Ashton (his brother) was almost too big.

The final round was one Mitch had been looking forward to all year - 24MX Hixpania. While the rain switched up conditions quite a bit it was well suited to his style of riding. From the get go Mitch was pushing and after setting a great time in Prologue, started second on the main race day. Mitch crossed the finish line in 6th overall and as the 2024 Junior Hard Enduro Champion. Being his 4th year in hard enduro and with an incredible team and sponsors we are extremely proud of this result and a breakthrough season for all involved!

2025 FIM Junior Super Enduro Championship - Marc Fernandez

The 2025 FIM SuperEnduro World Championship is set to take place over 7 rounds across Europe and the UK. This is the first year where there is a dedicated junior class providing younger riders with the opportunity to experience the same arenas atmosphere as the seasoned pros, nurturing the next generation of SuperEnduro champions. Marc Fernandez who is part of the TTR Squadra Corse team and a Plews supported rider is one of the riders who will take on the 2025 season.

The season kicks off in Gliwice, Poland where Marc is on a fresh bike and embracing the energy of the opening round. He finds himself racing consistently within the top 5 and leaving this round with an impressive 3rd overall. It’s clear that all the hours of practice have paid off and with a clear path on where to improve Marc heads to round 2 in Riesa, Germany.

Only 3 weeks later riders find themselves in a new country ready to action. For Marc, Germany brings the break he’s been hoping for. The track was a mixture of flowing and technical which suited his skill set well. This race was not without it’s challenges though including a reverse grid start that caught the leading rider off guard. Marc wins two out of the three races and finds himself at the top of the podium! His first ever win was emotional achievement and one that would set the tone for the rest of the season.

Heading into round 3, Marc will be racing with the junior leader plate after his round 2 performance. Over the next three rounds in Romania, Poland and Hungary, Marc finds himself consistently on the podium with a 2nd overall finish. His close competitors are constantly changing which allows for his to start to build a constant bank of championship points.

Round 6 takes place in Newcastle, UK. It is at this point in the season where Marc is looking to push his close competitors out the way as he aims for the championship. Race 1 saw the top two riders crash out leaving a clear path for Marc to take the win. Race 2 was yet another successful one with another win and race 3 saw Marc come in 3rd. Overall Fernandez takes the win and is heading into the final round with on hand on the title.

The final round in Lievin, France was filled with much anticipation. Race 1 saw a chaotic start to the evening but Marc was able to remain consistent and finish in 4th. Race two is where it was all on the line... Marc started strong with an early lead. It was not without competition but by remaining calm and level headed Marc was able to take not only the race win but the world title!

Over the 2025 season Fernandez had 8 wins in 21 heats and never missed a podium. Reflecting on the season at the end of the night Marc said that “From the first race, I realized that I was one of the strongest riders ... Thanks to my background in Hard Enduro, I had that consistency and calm that helped me at the end of each race.” A memorable achievement for not only Marc but the Plews team in Super Enduro.

2025 FIM Junior Hard Enduro Championship - James Moore

In 2025 our Plews supported Rigo Racing junior rider, James Moore had an incredible season. Heading into 2025 hard enduro was a completely different landscape due to big changes with the Hard Enduro World Championship. Coming in as a rookie, this would be his first full season competing in the championship.

Starting the season many riders had little time to prepare and after a strong season in 2024, James was looking to step it up and really prove himself as a rider to be reckoned with. Valleys Hard Enduro was a race that was expected to be wet and slippery but yet again defied expectations with dry conditions. James started off strong with a 2nd in prologue in the Junior class but had tight competition in the final round. It was clear that the local British riders were going to be competition and that was seen in the results where James came in as the 5th Junior.

The next round would be on the Rigo Racing team’s home turf at Abestone in Italy. This year James had been racing and training consistently in Italy but not only that, one big thing had changed in the Junior Championship... Ashton Brightmore was out with injury. The rider who posted the biggest threat to the championship was not out and the gate was open for all juniors to race for the title. Abestone would be a big break for James. He would be the only junior and one of the few top riders to make it into the X-loop. James would walk away from this race as the 1st Junior and overall in 4th place.

Round 3 at the Hixpania race will go down as a the most unexpected turn of events of the Championship. Despite confusion and chaos, James once again showed that he was at the top of his game being the only junior rider to make 18 checkpoints and finish among the top riders. He finished this race in P1 in the Junior Championship class and 6th in the Championship class. Round 4 would take place at the Sea to Sky race and at this point James was starting to create a decent points gap between himself and his closest competitor Felix Bäkher. He would remain consistent and once again finish at the to junior and 6th overall.

Getzen Rodeo would be the final round for the Junior Hard Enduro Championship. James had an incredible performance at round 5. Starting with a 2 hour qualifying race, James had a solid result coming in 5th overall and the 1st Junior. Just the start and confidence boost he needed heading into the main race. Just 20 riders qualified for the main GetzenChamp race which was a 1.5 hour showdown that included a mandatory and more technical X Loop which every rider must take. Overall James finished the race in 9th position and as the 1st Junior secured himself as the 2025 FIM Junior Hard Enduro Champion. We are beyond proud of such an incredible performance not only at this race but over a constant race season.

Three FIM World Championships in two seasons represents more than just results - it demonstrates what's possible when talent meets preparation, determination meets support, and riders meet tyres they can trust without question. As Mitch Brightmore, Marc Fernandez, and James Moore have proven, the path to a world title runs through Plews. These championships belong to the riders who earned them, but we're incredibly proud to have been part of their journey to the top. Here's to the next generation of champions - we can't wait to see what 2026 brings.
