The final round of the Italian Extreme Enduro took place over the weekend of October 4th - 5th. Tight competition throughout the season resulted in the championship points coming down to the final round, referred to as the Extreme Snakes race.
It was at this final race where Plews supported rider Matthew Green secured his championship victory! Coming down to the wire Matt won the overall and secured a total of 4679 points over the duration of the season. Following closely behind was local rider, Sonny Goggia who finished his season with 4629 points. That’s only a point difference of 50 over weeks of racing and tight battles tackling the Italian terrain.
Another Rider who has been racing consistently over the season has been James Moore. Currently leading the Junior FIM Hard Enduro championship, James had a solid race in the final round. It was a wet and slippery race but he managed to keep pushing and finished in an impressive P2. He finished his Italian Extreme enduro season in 5th in the championship.
Both riders will no doubt take these accomplishments and use them as fuel for the upcoming Sea To Sky hard enduro race happening this weekend.
We’d like to take this opportunity to also acknowledge a new rider who is proving to be an absolutely phenomenal talent entering the sport. Lorenzo Gandola has recently joined the TTR Squadra Corse team and had great results at the Italian race winning both race 1 and 2. We are likely to see more of this rider in the enduro scene and hard enduro world in the near future.
